Degree Audit
This system keeps an account of your General Education requirements: which ones you’ve met and which ones you still need to fulfill. It also has a “what if” feature to let you run different scenarios. Access it through the WISER student information system using this procedure:
- At the WISER page, select ‘WISER for Students.’
- Click on ‘Sign in.’
- When prompted, enter your Student ID number (type UMS plus the number) and password.
- At the first menu page, select ‘Academics.’
- Next, select ‘View Degree Progress Report.’
- This takes you to the degree audit reporting system, where you’ll need to re-enter your ID number and password.
- You will see ‘Degree Audit Student Application.’
- Next, select ‘Submit a New Audit’
- Wait (usually less than a minute) for the ‘Details’ button to appear.
- Click the ‘Details’ button to view your audit.
- Select ‘Open All Sections’
- To print, select ‘Printer Friendly.’ Select ‘Print.’
Figuring out your progress report can be a challenge; it takes time, patience, and persistence to learn how to read it. But ignoring it is not a wise choice. This is the most important tool you have for tracking your progress in fulfilling graduation requirements — and avoiding surprises when you least expect (or want) them.
It’s so important to bring this report with you to your advising session so you and your advisor can go over it together. Your advisor will show you how to interpret the data and what to look for. If you’re still having trouble deciphering the report, then try the checklists in the toolbox for another way to check your progress.
