Welcome to UMass Boston! We’re delighted that you have chosen to join us, and we wish you a productive, enjoyable, and successful stay.

As an accepted international student, you’ll need to comply with U.S. government regulations governing your academic stay here. Our job is to help you understand those regulations and stay in compliance with them, so you can focus on advancing your education.

You need to begin with Required Steps. These include gaining F–1 (student) visa status, attending the mandatory information session, obtaining mandatory health insurance, and attending academic orientation.
