More Opportunities to Enrich Your Education
Did you know that elective courses count for about one-third of your work in earning a degree? In other words, about one in three of the courses you take can be any course at all, as long as you meet any prerequisites that the course might have.
Electives, wisely chosen, can give you new skills or concepts that will complement your major or minor. You can not only expand your career options, but also make yourself more marketable.
Let yourself be creative: explore new (or forgotten) interests outside your major or minor areas. Some students actually discover a new (or second!) major or minor and a new career path to pursue – through a “change of pace” elective they decided to try.
And of course there are electives, such as internships and study abroad, that widen your experiences and perspectives even further. Learn what’s available to you at Minors and other Academic Programs
